Second workshop
Will focus on the second half of a vinyasa flow class. Explore the various seated postures using straps and blocks to assist as well as take time to look at the first steps towards inversions and the various types such as viparita krani, shoulder stand, tripod headstand and headstand.

The workshop will begin with a normal flow to warm up the body so that we can go deeper into the stretches. 

Guaranteed long savasana and a guided meditation to finish the workshop

Vinyasa Breakdown

Part 1

Saturday 18th February

2 part workshop to enable students time to understand the key 2 part workshop to enable students time to understand the key postures within a flow class, feel where they can take the posture within their own body and how props can assist rather being afraid to use them within a practice.

Workshop 1 - ashtanga namaskar*, chaturanga*, warrior poses, binds and crow

Workshop 2 - standing & seated postures, twists and inversions

Guided meditations, breath work and deep savasana guaranteed. at both workshops.
Suitable for anyone who wants to deepen their practice and would be suitable for all levels of yogis.

First workshop
Understand the bandhas within the body and how they help within the postures. Breakdown the first half of a vinyasa flow practice. Focus on alignment throughout all the warrior and standing postures as well as  ashtanga namaskar and chaturanga and break down the infamous crow pose. 

Understand and feel how using props can help feel the posture within the body. Guaranteed long savasana and a guided meditation to finish the workshop

Come and experience the elements of yoga…

Start with a pranyama / breathing exercise to help you to quieten the mind and switch off from the day.

Movement – Enjoy 60 minutes of a very gentle flow to help open up the body by connecting the breath with the movement. The flow will include the basic yoga poses of warrior I and II plus some standing postures before we move to the ground for those longer holds and stretches. This will help to restore the body and calm the nervous system. 

Guaranteed 10 min savasana with a guided shakra meditation to leave everyone floating and feeling the energy shift within the body.

Final Nadi Shodhana breathing exercise to help open up the mind and clear the head

“Foundations of Yoga”

15th January 9.30am - 11.30am Rainforest Spa, Enniskerry

A workshop to provide the tools for various breathing exercises as well as an understanding in how you can further develop your practice.

There will be a focus on how postures should feel in the body, how to use props to adjust your body to maximise the extension and expansion of the pose as well as some more advanced options in case you want to deepen your practice.
